Instructors

 At Reservoir Seibukan, we pride ourselves on having top-notch, skilled and
effective instructors. We currently have six black belts who train our students
throughout the week. They have over 100 years in combined training.
All the instructors have had direct training with
Supreme Master Hanshi Zenpo Shimabukuro and Hanshi Dan Smith.
 
  
Sensei Tommy Turk, Yondan
Chief Instructor
 
Sensei Tommy has over 30 years training in Seibukan Shorin-Ryu and is a fourth degree black belt. He has competed in numerous tournaments receiving awards for Sportsman of the Year; Competitor of the Year; Instructor of the Year; and State Champion in Kata, Kumite, and Weapons from the Mississippi Karate Association. He placed 3rd at AAU Nationals in both weapons and kumite. He has also received the Shimabukuro Award for commitment to the Dojo Kun principles.  Sensei Tommy is married and has three children and one grandchild.  He also is the Director of Friends For a Cause, a non-profit organization which focuses on improving the community through volunteering and job placement.
 
 Sensei Theresa Abadie, Nidan
 
Sensei Theresa is a second degree black belt and has trained with Seibukan Karate for 21 years.  She received the Dorokyu Award for going above and beyond her commitment to the Dojo.  Sensei Theresa is married and has four children.

 
 
  
 
Sensei Anna Allen, Nidan
 
Sensei Anna is a second degree black belt in Seibukan Shorin-Ryu.  She has been training for 16 years at the Reservoir Seibukan Dojo and is also an assistant instructor under Sensei Tommy Turk. Anna has competed in tournaments locally and nationally. She has achieved AAU Karate National Championship Gold Medal, Okinawa World Champion Silver Medal, MKA State Champion and Grand Champion, and AAU Junior Olympics Fifth Place. She is married and a student at Ole Miss.
 
 
 
 
 Sensei Kathy Buchanan, Shodan
 
Sensei Kathy is a first degree black belt and has trained with Seibukan Karate for 14 years.  She has competed in the AAU National Championship and received a Gold Medal.  She also has competed with the MKA and was State Champion in Kata as well as a Grand Champion.  She received the Dorokyu Award for going above and beyond her commitment to the Dojo. Kevin has been studying martial arts and Seibukan Karate for 15 years and has discovered the secret to karate. He is married and has three children.
